Hi
Just a quick question.
When start the pc which has the server software installed there is
disk activity for about 4 minutes. The processor runs at about 40
percent usage.
The pc is running Xp and is a 2.4gig P4

Is this normal

depends...you haven't given much information to go from.
What server version? what settings: itunes, moodlogic?
how many songs in the library?

4 minutes of drive activity is fairly little for some setups.

There are 12000 songs or so...

This is not a problem....I wasa just interested in knowing if this was

Hi,

it could be the Windows XP indexing service. You can either stop the service or
prevent it from running on specific disks.
