Ah - I have no player connected, so that'll be why - thanks very much.

Perhaps the error should be trapped?

it should be, but it isn't :) If you want to test out with a client, connect
with Winamp using http://slimserverIP:9000/stream.mp3 or download softsqueeze
from http://softsqueeze.sourceforge.net. Softsqueeze emulates a squeezebox
fairly well, so you can see how the screensavers work.
