View Full Version : Squeezeplay vs Softsqueeze --- please play Sirius on my Computer Speakers

Hey Guys,

So I've been trying Softsqueeze for a week primarily play both on my Computer Speakers while Streaming to my Duet.

After seeing a few other threads saying the saying troubles with Softsqueeze and Sirius and my own experiences, I've thrown in the towel for Softsqueeze 3.7.

After some research though, I've seen many mentions about Squeezeplay. Is that a replacement of Softsqueeze? Is there another program you'd recommend to play over my computer (including Sirius)?

Thanks in advance for the help.

I gave up on the java based "soft" players that come with SC. Too fragile. I'm pretty sure the issue wasn't the app itself but java.
If you are using Win or Linux, there are versions of a command-line soft player called squeezeslave.
If you do a search for it here, there'll be comments - or you can just download it from sourceforge (http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=105169).
If you are using Windows, I'd suggest making a shortcut to the app, going into the properties and setting it to "start minimized" You'd also need to add some parameters to the start line. I've been using
"MY-PATH\squeezeslave.exe" --retry -m:00:00:00:00:05 MY-SC-SERVER
with good luck.
