OK, another data point. Since I cannot update the FW on the Squeeze to 22
(it pukes when updating from XP or from RH9) I went ahead and loaded the XP
box with the 5.1.5 load just so I could test.

I have the same audio glitches on XP and to make matters worse after playing
a track for a few minutes the Squeeze just shuts down completely.

Is there any way to do an emergency recovery and re-flash the 21 firmware on
the squeezebox so I don't have to send it back?

Also, when I run the firmware update on the RH box, along with the FW
upgrade it appears to kill the server. Is there some way to get some output
from the server dying that would help with this problem?

OK, I just installed the latest RPM to my red hat box. The FW upgrade still
fails (over wired ethernet). So what can I do now? Can I get an RMA number
to send this unit back, because it's a paper weight.

Yes, the latest nightly RPMs are available once again.
