I normally run with a Linux RH server, I only went and tried XP after having
so many issues with FW21 and 5.1.5 on RH. I haven't seen a nightly build in
RPM format for a while and I'm not the best at compiling and installing
source.

Do you have any access to a linux machine anywhere? Even if only for long
enough to install the server, and do an upgrade. All the problems with FW2x
seem to be whilst using WinXP (at least to my memory). I've running v22
right now and have had not a single firmware upgrade problem since ...well,
since prolly v2 or 3.

If it helps, the source just needs to be extracted. If you extract the tar.gz
file, then copy the whole thing over the existing install in
/usr/local/slimserver, then it should run just fine. You can also just leave it
where it is, and run the slimserver.pl file that you just extracted. The other
thing to try, is to use cvs from linux and get updated to the minute :). Once
you check out a full set, you just run slimserver.pl in the new files and you
are set.

There is a firmware v22 in the CVS that might work better. Can't be worse, i
suppose. I'm afraid I can't offer much else in the way of suggestions. The
firmware has run wonderfully for me, even updating over wireless.

I think the RPM nightlies should be available Real Soon Now (tm) if
they're not already. There was a problem with the rpm build that was
caused by a silly-ass mistake on my part. Dean has a patch to fix it so
I am guessing all will be right with the world soon ;)

Yes, the latest nightly RPMs are available once again.
