I have just released a new version of SqueezeNMT which provides a browser GUI optimised for display on (flatscreen) TV's.

Written primarily to work with the Networked media tank i.e. Popcorn hour, eGreat, istar etc but it works also inn the browser on your pc and I think it should also be fine on the PS3.

You can download and get more info/screenshots at the project page:

Great. I'll try it on my HDX-1000.

I do really wish there was some integration the other way around,
though. A Squeeze client on the NMT box. That would save me a whole box
in my living & bed room!

Peter

Probably will not happen soon. In short, the interfacing w/the NMT HW
is a mystery. Why "they" want people to develop code but will not give
out how to interface w/the NMT is baffling. What you are left with is
the possibility of a SqueezeCenter client that "disappears" during music
play back. So, things like fast forward, browsing, remote control over
the web, skip ahead to the next track, adding to favourites, ect... are
not available while listening to music. Might as well use a cheap UPNP
server / client box instead of a SqueezeCenter / SB box.

Yep. That is the reason I haven't pursued that route too fervently.

I could change the skins to commit the play to the NMT instead of a squeezebox but as mentioned you lose control until playback is finished.

You would also lose the playlist creation functionality etc.

It would be a very minimal version of the current system.

SqueezeNMT v0.6.1r2

You can download and get more info/screenshots at the project page:
SqueezeNMT Project Page (http://code.google.com/p/squeezenmt/)

Features
========

-Faster response due to more functions migrated to CLI interface.
-Added configuration properties file ability to turn on/off logging redirection (was going to squeezesl/squeezeNMT.log which caused problems for some Tomcat users).
-Default installation has no logging redirection and amazon covers turned off.
-Fixed bugs with multiple player where the current players was being forgotten.

Shout if anyone notices any problems. I tried to test as much as possible :-)

Hi,

Thanks for creating this, it's added a whole new dimension to the living room audio visual set-up :-)

The only issue I have is getting the playlists to work via the Popcorn NMT - I just get the blue screen saying the request cannot be processed. In the browser on a PC I just get a blank window.

I've checked the squeezebox and that's displaying and playing playlists ok so I'm assuming that I've done something wrong in the Tomcat setup? All other functions seem to work just great. Any help will be appreciated.

kind Regards

Hi Did you ever sort this out?

I don't use tomcat but if you still have the problem I'll try and set it up and see if I get the same.

Is this plugin still being developed. I couldn't get it working but mainly because I didn't know what I was doing!

Hi,

I am not actively developing it at the moment as it suits my needs. You might have guessed this by the long absence from the forum.

Did you manage to get it going?
