Hi everyone.
I was just wondering : is it possible to use a SB Classic with a SB controller ?
I didn't really understand if the controller is linked to the SB Receiver (in which case it wouldn't work with a SB3) or if it can control Squeezecenter directly on the PC (in which case it would make no difference if it is used with a SB3 or a Transporter).

Thanx !

Sure, it works great.

You have it a bit off. The Controller talks to the server with
SqueezeCenter. The SqueezeCenter talks to stuff like SB Classic, Boom,
Transporter.

Yes, you can use the Controller with any SB. It connects to the server not the Duet.

the Controller ... connects to the server not the Duet.

What if you don't have a server (only using internet radio)? In those circumstances, can a controller connect to a squeezebox?

In those cases it will connect to SqueezeCenter.

That should be SqueezeNetwork.

One caveat. The controller is a wireless device. With the receiver, you have two choices - connect to your home wireless network or use the receiver as an adhoc wireless accesspoint for the controller.

The SB3 won't do that. You must have wireless network connectivity where you plan to use the controller.
