I first noticed this behaviour in 5.1.4 which included an earlier
version of the plug-in. Things started going wrong when I downloaded and
manually installed the updated Shoutcast plug-in from Peter's web site.
I think the problem is in the plug-in itself and not the server code.
I'm guessing that 5.1.5 includes the updated plug-in with the favourites
feature.

Didn't notice the problem on 5.1.3 - did this file even exist
then?

I have to admit that the Shoutcast Plugin is not usable on
5.1.5. Windows users should steer clear of 5.1.5.

Cheers,
John

Quoting Tim Long:

1. Install plug-in and browse to a station, play it. A new
file appears in the server directory called "shoutcastbrowser.recent".
The size of the file shows up as 1Kb in explorer and viewing it in
notepad shows that it contains something semi-human-readable.
2. Browse to a different station and play it. The .recent
file size changes to 0Kb and viewing it in WordPad reveals it to be
completely empty.
3. Browse to another station and play it. SlimServer
service dies stone dead. The .recent file remains unchanged.
4. From this point on, the SlimServer will crash as soon as
the Shoutcast plug-in is used to play any station. The server can be
restarted and everything works fine, including browsing shoutcast
streams, but as soon as any attempt is made to play a station, *poof*
the SlimServer goes up in smoke.
5. Deleting the .recent file takes you back to step (1).

The latest version of the Shoutcast plugin should fix this, I hope.
You can get it at:

i've tried the new plug in, but the browser still crashes the server. I can
play one radio station, but as soon as try another, slimserver crashes.
I am running 5.1.5, winxp, slimp3
