View Full Version : Incorrect bitrates and durations

I noticed that on some mp3s that were ripped with Lame (vbr) I am getting
wildly off bitrates and song duration values (like 32 kpbs for a file that
is more like 320) and durations of 40 minutes for a four minute song. I
played the same mp3s on windows media player and it did report the correct
values...I am running 5.1.4 on a slimp3.

Has anyone else seen this? Thx.

I haven't seen it yet - most of my music is in lame vbr. I'll keep an
eye out. Funny that WMP gets it right. They didn't report correct
vbr bitrates for a long time...

Noticed that today myself - not to the same degree but having just
ripped at 80% VBR yesterday they're showing up as 160 kbps CBR.

Running 5.1.3 (on a brand new squeezebox :)

The VBR info is pulled right out of the perl module MP3::Info
(which hasn't changed in a while).

There was a small change to bitrate calculation in Info.pm a
few days ago. It shouldn't be causing the problem but you might
want to "Wipe Cache" if you're using the Tag Database just
in case.
