It shouldn't be too hard to find a replacement power supply at a local electronics shop or on the internet.

These are the specs:

Squeezebox Receiver power input
9.0V DC, regulated
Center positive, sleeve ground
Connector: 1.05mm ID, 3.5mm OD, 7mm long
Min supply rating: 550mA

thanks for the very swift response, I really appreciate it.

I'm sorry, I'm not very well versed in these things. I'm sure I could go to an electronics store with those stats, but I wouldn't know hwere to start online. Do you reckon you could find me a link for that (I live in the UK)

Again, thanks very much for your help, I hope I haven't been too cheeky!

Finding one with the correct voltage and power rating isn't a problem, but I can't find one with tha same size connector as listed by slimpy above.

If someone could post a model number of the receiver power supply from the label stuck on it, we might be able to find you a shop selling the same one.

Make sure to set it to 9V.

Thanks again for quick responses,

2.35 x 0.7 x 10.5mm
5.0 x 2.1 x 12mm
3.5 x 1.4 x 10mm
5.5 x 2.1 x 12mm
4.0 x 1.7 x 9.5mm
5.5 x 2.5 x 12mm
4.75 x 1.7 x 9.5mm
6.3 x 3.0 x 14mm

Squeezebox Receiver power input
9.0V DC, regulated
Center positive, sleeve ground
Connector: 1.05mm ID, 3.5mm OD, 7mm long
Min supply rating: 550mA

I may be being a complete moron, but none of those 8 tips seem to be a match for the dimensions for the receiver. Can someone please tell me if I am being a moron!

I have two squeezeboxes, and I found the plug for the other one. I took hte model number and found this online:

http://www.alliedelec.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?SKU=6530250&MPN=PSA05R-090&R=6530250&SEARCH=6530250&DESC=PSA05R-090

Could this do it?

Ps, If Maplin's one (see above) isalso correct, I'd prefer to do that as it is from the Uk

Thanks,
Greg

Did you mean Squeezebox receivers as Squeezeboxes use a 5V 2A power supply? If the details you quoted are off a receiver power supply you can find the same model in the UK here:

I think that last link provided is perfect as, practically speaking, it is the same model number as my existing one.

I am going to buy that one, and I'll let you know how it goes.

Thanks everyone for all your help,
Greg

Unfortunately, despite being the power supply having the same part number the size of the connector does not agree with the dimensions listed on the slim website.

Since you already have one correct power supply you can do a quick check. Measure the outside diameter of the connector, if it's 5.5mm then that power supply will be fine. If it's 3.5mm as on the slim website then we'll have to think again. It might be possible to get an adapter to change connector sizes.

Hopefully it's a mistake on the slim website.
