View Full Version : 5.1.3 web interface will not display server settings

I just installed 5.1.3 (I completely uninstalled 5.1.1 which was working
fine but I wanted a "clean" install then installed 5.1.3). I was
initially able to access the web interface to set up the music folder
paths. Now, I can browse and play using the remote control and my SLIMP3
player, but I can no longer get to my server settings in the web
interface. The screen starts to load, the header displays along with a
line that reads "SlimServer version 5.1.3" then nothing (remainder of
page is blank). The play list and status pane refreshes continuously
instead of every 30 seconds.

Given that the server is clearly running (because it is playing music) I
cannot explain this behaviour. 5.1.1 worked fine in this respect but it
was very prone to just stopping for no apparent reason, so I don't want
to go back to it. I'm running on Windows 2003 Server as a service, with
a custom log-on account (not as LocalSystem). The SlimServer account has
full permissions on the SlimServer directory and I'm starting with a
totally clean install (i.e. the SlimServer directory & prefs file was
deleted before running the install).

Any thoughts?

Hi,

I have the same problem. It refreshes every 2 seconds. This also causes
my browser to not display the playlist frame (FireFox/MacOS) because it
is too busy reloading the header.
The server (Linux/Fedora) load is also very high because of this.

After some digging in the files, I hardcoded a 30 second interval in
HTML/Default/status_header.html to "fix" it. Ugly!

The line with <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="[% refresh %] ...
always seems to fetch a "2" second refresh.

Sorry if this belongs in the development mailing list.
I just joined all mailing lists (mainly tyo report this bug), and I have
my squeezebox for exactly one day now, so I'll shut up now, and go back
lurking to get a feel for the lists before I post again :-)

Is there a FAQ / charter for every list?

cheers,

Jules

What player are you using? A 2s refresh is a known bug when using softsqueeze,
but I can't reproduce with Winamp or squeezebox.

Sorry to butt in, but I was seeing this with both SLIMP3 and
Squeezebox players shortly before the 5.1.3 release. It seemed
intermittent but frequent and I could never come up with a
reproducible case. However, I can't get it to occur with CVS
right now!

A squeezebox wired.
Server is the 5.1.3 rpm (downloaded yesterday), platform Linux/Fedora
Core 1 + updates

After starting the server, it told me there was a firmware update. The
update went fine, and the server has been running since.

I've posted an updated nightly containing a fix for this problem:

<http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/latest>

This was introduced as part of a fix for another bug at the last minute
before 5.1.3 was released.

If the nightly build fixes things for folks, we'll be rolling out 5.1.4
later today.

Thanks,

dean

Bug 245 is still fixed, web pages refresh normally, and the progress
bar/elapsed time display is working correctly. Looks good!

I've just posted 5.1.4 which should fix these issues with the web
interface.

Sorry for the confusion.
