Hello,

I recently purchased a squeezebox Duet, and I would like to use the Duet remote to be able to stream music to a software player such as Foobar or J River Media Center on a PC different from the one where SqueezeCenter and my music library is installed. Basically I would like to stream to a PC instead of a Duet receiver. Is this possible?

Thank you,
Alan

Yes, but ideally the software player should be a a Squeezebox emulator such as Squeezeplay or Squeezeslave. Try Squeezeslave:

http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=105169&package_id=176494

It may also be be possible to use Foobar, J River, Winamp, etc. by using stream.mp3 by connecting the player to

http://your.server.ip.address:9000/stream.mp3

but this requires transcoding to Mp3 from whatever format your library is in. I know that it can be controlled through the web interface, but I'm not sure about using the Controller. I would imagine so, since it should appear as just another player.

Squeezeslave is allowing me to do exactly what I was looking to do. Thanks for the information!
