Using SC 7.3 beta and hooking my SBC to my A5's sounds fine. This thing is sooo much fun. When they get this done, it should make the DUET a great value. Two receivers for the price of a DUET. You can even use the SBC to listen to one thing and still controll your other recivers to play something else (somewhere else of course).

I'm already having a fun weekend.

P.S. Now I've hooked it up to my main system. A little thin...or really a lot thin. Sounds as good as an iPod though. So, sounds great with headphones, sounds fine with A5's and sounds like an iPod with a nice 2 channel set up.

I'm looking forward to hooking it up to my Practical Devices headphone amp and using it with my Sony headphones. No more lugging my laptop to the family room to listen to tunes while the better half is watching some reality TV show :-).

Sounds pretty good through a set of Sennheiser HD650's with no help at all and it less mess. I'm going to look for some good ear buds to lighten the load a little more. I know Logitech just bought a company that makes some good ones. It's almost like carrying an iPod except it needs a nice rubber case with a clip or something.

A couple of questions since you brought my attention to this:

Does the controller count as it's own unit? For example, does it show up as a unit in Squeezecenter as another player and can it playback different from all other players?

And is the playback a feature that Logitech has promised will work, or is it just YMMV?

TIA

7.3 sounds oike it will be a major and great release. And because of that I may wait it out and watch these forums to see the types of issues people are having. :-) I have just managed to get Vista 64 to run on an awesome home-built machine that is whisper quiet and a perfect media server, but that also means that stability is an utmost priority, and getting to run Vista 64 was a nightmare, so for now I am saturated with gadgetry (my wife smiles amusingly -or amusedly?- when she sees me wrestle cable stuff) and may literally smell the flowers (I am having a glass of Bernadus Cab and smoking a duck in the bbq as we speak, and a book is ready to be read in the backyard thios afternoon). Ah lazy Sundays. I hope they don't post 7.3 for download today :-D

Yep, the controller shows in SC and in SqueezeNetwork as a seperate player. It even shows itself as a player on the SBC and you can change all the settings just like any other device (screensaver, background, etc...)

It was my understanding since the beginning that Logitech intended to do this. Makes sense since they put the DAC and the jack in the design.

It's a blast. I ran it yesterday for 2.5 hours and the battery still showed half full.

You are way too ambitious. I'm drinking Black & Tans and working on portraits I shot yesterday while listening to my controller through headphones. That's as close as I'm coming to work :-)
