Not only am I having problems with server 5.1.1, I
also can't update the firmware on my SliMP3.
Everything goes fine until the update program asks me
about kiosk mode. Then it throws a "system error
1060" and everything goes downhill from there. The
output is listed below. Help!

Experts only: enable kiosk mode? [y/N] --> n
System error 1060 has occurred.

The specified service does not exist as an installed
service.

Firmware installation failed. Please check the IP and

The MAC address is correct. The IP address is
valid and not in use. Now what???

You can safely ignore this message:

It just means that the upgrader couldn't stop the SlimServer service
because it wasn't running.

The real problem is that for some reason your server can't communicate
with the player. Try restarting the player and see if you can ping its
address.

I used to get something like this when I left my firewall running.
