I don't know if this is unsual, or just a result of some adjusted pricing, post Boom release, but Amazon has some interesting prices on SBCs and SBRs. Basically, the SBR will run you $292ish. And the Duet will run you $318ish.

So...I don't care what kind of crazy irrational hatred you have of the SBR, but I think anyone considering a Controller purchase could scratch up another $26 for an extra reciever! It certainly makes me more likely to buy this than just another SB3 (which is a handsome $250 now).

I'm still waiting for the price of the Controller to come down south of $230.00. I can not justify paying $300 for a remote when I already own an SB3 with its remote. My total cost for the SB3 & SBR combo would set me back $600 with the current SBR price. I think it's about time for a special promotion from Slim Devices/Logitech. A limited time promo for existing owners of SBx with proof of purchase. Give me a $100 coupon towards an SBR and you'll have my web order within minutes of receiving the coupon or promo code. I know, I know... whishful thinking.

I thought I'd never do it, but I'm considering a Duet as a graceful solution to the SoftSqueeze instance currently running on my PC, with the logic being that I can control the Reciever with the Controller when it's near the PC, or from a webpage when the Controller finds itself elsewhere (most likely my living room/main stereo). I guess I should maybe wait to see SqueezePlay, but SoftSqueeze is just kind of annoying to leave open all the time.

I just registered my new Boom at www.logitech.com and they emailed me a coupon for 20% off any purchase within 30 days. I used it to buy a Controller for $240...

Or register a product you already own.

For me, the biggest advantage/benefit to the new controller is the fact that you don't need line-of-sight to control my receiver in the living room...

I have set up patio speakers as a "SpeakerB" set from my living room receiver, and used to have to walk over to my patio door just to control volume and music selection...

Now, with the WiFi enabled remote, I don't have the line-of-sight requirement... It's fantastic...

Hmmm... I don't remember if I registered my SB3... I have for a while now. I'll try to register it online and see it that gets me that 20% off coupon.

Thanks...

Edit: I could not find a S/N on my SB3... I guess the S/N is the MAC address?
Edit again: S/N not required to register... but I'm still curious.

for those on a budget in these uncertain times...search out a sb2 on craig's list (i found one for less than $100) and get an itouch (also readily available on craig's list.) It's the perfect setup.

I just registered my Duet, got a 10% off coupon in my email, and tried to use it to buy a second SBR...didn't work. Got an error that the coupon code couldn't be applied to any products in my basket. Anyone else have this problem? The coupon is supposed to be for anything at Logitech.com (I used the link in the email) and there were no exclusions listed, I guess I'll give Slim/Logitech sales a call in the morning.
