When turning on my Squeezbox it first indicates "Can't open file for
dll" then it says its ready to update this Squeezbox, Ethernet IP
address 192.168.1.50 but nothing happens.
I have changed the IP of my G5 Mac to 192.168.1.49 but the slim server
can't find the player.
What can I do?

I am on a Mac with OS X 10.3.3

Hi Mikael,

This indicates that the firmware may be corrupted and needs to be
manually updated. Visit this URL:

http://localhost:9000/firmware.html

and enter that IP address on the display.

That should reinstall the firmware correctly.

Thanks,

dean

Is there a way to prevent the web interface from displaying the artist
and album information on the playlist when playing an album? It's a
little annoying to see the same information repeated on every line.

The "Formatting" panel gives the impression that you have control over
this, but it only changes the way the artist and album pieces look; if
you leave either one out, adds them at the end anyway.

Perhaps there should be a way to suppress parts of the track description
from the lines of the playlist in the event that they are all the same
(or even if they're not). On a mixed playlist, I'd probably only want
the artist name; showing the album gives me more than I need to know
from a simple list. The song currently playing shows the artist and
album information at the top anyway.

If there were an option to suppress wrapping titles in the playlist,
that would be sufficient.

Thanks Dean for your reply. This is what I did and it went fine. The
player works much better (no skips) with the upgrade (21).

Great product! Have a lot of collegues that are interested in the box
and will probably buy it in the near future.
