    Where is itunes button?

I use iTunes, but can not find the radio button to enable itunes support in
    slimerver.

Am I blind? it's not under server settings or any of the sub-pages. Do I need
to install a plugin or something?

    I'm running 5.1.1 on a Win2K machine.

    Hi Drew,

It sounds like SlimServer doesn't think you have iTunes installed.

What path does it specify for your Music Library in the Server Settings
area. Make sure that this folder is the one that contains your iTunes
    Music Library.xml file.

Yes, thanks, that was it. Where is this level of user info documented. I
      couldn't find that anywhere.

My problem now is that is seems that Slimserver doesn't see any music files
that are not "below" itunes music library.xml in the hierarchy. This is a big
problem for me because I do not what to put the music files where the .xml file
is and I can't figure out how to get itunes to put it where I want it.

I want to keep my music at:

      c:\music archive

and itunes insists on putting the xml file at:

      c:\documents and settings\user\music\itunes

      any ideas?

      Thanks,

      Drew

Well, the installation should detect this path automatically and/or
default to your My Music folder. So, there shouldn't be any manual
        configuration needed.

Even so, sometimes things get confused. There's this FAQ entry:
        <http://www.slimdevices.com/su_faq.html#troubleshooting-itunes-windows>

Hm, if it's using the iTunes option, it's getting all the paths from
the iTunes Music Library.xml file, and it shouldn't matter where the
        files are on the disk.

that's fine. In iTunes use the Edit -> Preferences -> Advanced setting
and choose your iTunes Music Folder location.

If your songs are already in that folder, uncheck the "Copy files to
iTunes Music folder when adding to library". Then you should be able
to drag the folder containing your music into iTunes.
