View Full Version : Latest firmware

Hi,

I 'm having the problems upgrading the firmware on my Squeezebox to 21.
I've downloaded the latest nightly build (v2004-04-08) but had the same problem with yesterdays. I'm running Windows XP and use the Perl scripts with ActiveState Perl.
Once I restart the server I'm prompted to press the brightness button to upgrade the firmware - this process starts, displays a progress bar then tells me the upgrade fails and then goes back to the upgrade firmware screen and sticks there.
I've tried it using a wireless connection (which is how I've got it set up normally) and directly connected to my router.
I'd be grateful for any assistance.

Thanks

Gordon,

What time of day did you download the 2004-04-08 nightly?

We just refreshed that build about an hour and a half ago to fix a bug
in the updater.

Just tried it with almost the same results... I don't get an "update
failed" message though, it just goes back to the "Software Update... Press
and hold..." screen immediately after the update progress bars fills. This
is when connected via ethernet.

At this screen the SB seems no longer to respond to the remote. I've tried
powering down and restarting the process with the same results.

FWIW I got a similar behaviour with my 'illigitimate' upgrade to v.20 with
the 5.1.1 server software until I deleted the version file. Still works
great so I'm holding here until there is a nice, new stable version of both.
