Hi,

I'm pretty new at this. Is there a way to play the same playlist at
the same time that is running on a Squeezebox (with SlimServer
running on a desktop) on a laptop connected to the same LAN?

In other words I want the sound to come out of my stereo in the
living room and come out of the laptop in the kitchen, or the desktop
in the office for that matter. Is this possible?

Thanks,

Thanks for replying.

I can reach the music, but what if I wanted the same thing playing on
two or more machines.

What you want is to synchronize two or more players. Yes, this is
possible. Check the player settings via the web interface.

Oops, I spoke too quickly. Apparently you can synch onl real devices
and not an mp3 stream. I wonder if one of the software squeezeboxes
can do that?

Softsqueeze and slimp3slave both synch

Slim Devices Third Party Projects list:

Slimp3Slave:
http://www.ex-parrot.com/~pdw/slimp3slave/

Softsqueeze:
http://softsqueeze.sourceforge.net/

Slimp3 slave is for linux only.
softsqueeze doesn't quite sync as well as slimp3slave, but its still very early
in the development.

I tried softsqueeze but while it did allow me to sync with the real
slimp3 box it was always couple of seconds ahead of the hardware device
so you cannot really use them in an area you can hear both at the same
time.

Only three weeks ago SOftSqueeze was just a glimpse in the eye of its
developer. Give Richard some time and I'm sure he'll get it to sync
perfectly...

I look forward to its continued development!

Thanks.
