Mixing the old with the new

Hello all,
I currently have a SLIMP3 (one of the originals!) and a squeezebox 1. I am planning on getting the squueze box boom and a Duet controller. Can I ask a couple of silly questions?

Do I need the Duet receiver or will the controller work with the old squeezebox and slimp3?

Will the controller control all the slim devices on the network?

Controllers work with all players and do not need an SBR unless you don't have a wireless network. You do need a recent version of SC.

Thank you, I assume that as the controller works on wifi it will work even if the squeezebox is in a cupboard?
