View Full Version : New firmware v.20

Hi Sean

Just tried the new firmware and I see a few issues.

- For whatever reason I was prompted twice to press
and hold brightness

- Cannot enter a WEP key anymore, Squeezebox would
reboot when I get to that part, sometimes showing
a blank screen, sometimes showing garbage on the
display instead of the key entry dialog

- View current settings just rolls in the same
screen again (from the right)

- When resetting Squeezebox (press/hold power) the
text 'Restarting...' appears, then the 'R' disappears
and then it would reset.

- If I press/hold brightness again the display goes
blank and after a while the text 'The update was
successful' shows, then the 'U' disappears and then
Squeezebox reboots. This happens when the display
is set to large. If the display is set normally I
get the progress bar.

- The name of my wireless AP is shown twice in the
list

Apart from that I can play my MP3 and radio stations
and the UI on Squeezebox feels much snappier.

If you need more information, just let me know.

Felix

Excellent feedback - thanks Felix.
I'll fix these right away.

BTW the two-step upgrade is expected. V.10 is a required intermediate
step to get from v.8 to v.20 (see squeezebox.version for details).

Me too!

Switched to ethernet to try to fix, and now I can't go back to wireless :(

Before that, though, wifi wav/flac dropouts, were replaced by "lost
connection to the server messages", though that could've been flakiness on
the part of my AP.

I upgraded to the 4-03 nightly's and after updating the firmware am
experiencing exactly the same problems with the wireless network as Felix.
Turning off WEP on the AP and attempting to setup the sb without WEP doesn't
work either (it fails to find the wireless network.)

I haven't tried connecting directly to ethernet yet.
