I have upgraded my PC to ASUS p5Q Deluxe motherboard with Quad6600. I was running previously my Squeezebox 3 with a realtek adapter using a crossover cable. I cannot configure the new setup and network setting as always it appears to give "player not found" msg.

My Ipconfig/all data as follows:

Ethernet adapter local area connection:

Description: Marvell Yukon 88E001/8003/8010 PCI
Gigabit Ethernet controller
Physical address: 00-22-15-0A-00-56
DHCL Enabled
IP Adress : 192.168.1.64
Subnet : 255.255.255.0
Default gateway: 192.168.1.254
DHCP Server: 192.168.1.254
DNS servers: 192.168.1.254

This adapter is used for my internet connection.

Ethernet adapter local area connection:

Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit
Physical address : 00-22-15-19-F3-9D

Please help me with network settings for above adapter to get my SQ3 work with a crossover cable.

Looks like you need to assign an IP to the second interface. Make sure you choose something outside of the allocation range of whatever is doing DHCP on the other network.

Having said that, I'm curious as to why you're running the SB3 on a separate network...looks like you have a router or something there, why not use it?

I have a router. If I use router will it slow down internet speed?

No, home internet connections are much slower than local networks, so you have plenty of spare capacity.

Thank you I connected it to the router. Is there any advantage in using wireless connection over the cable connection of the router?

Only that you don't need a cable :) Wired is always more reliable and faster than wireless - use it unless you have a very good reason to be wireless.
