Hello all,

I was wondering if it was possible to connect to the stream of the FLAC
conversion output - the .WAV - with winamp. I've successfully connected
to stream.mp3 but I can't seem to get .flac files to work. I have
'flac' installed and it is getting run by the slimserver since I can see
it in the process list (I'm running everything on a RH Linux box). I
was wondering if there is something I'm missing - is there a specific
name to the stream such as stream.flc when slimserver is handling .flac
files?

thanks for any help.

Currently, the server only support stream.mp3, which as you have discovered is
mp3 output. To stream to winamp, you would need to have FLAX.exe and LAME.exe
installed in your system PATH, or the same directory as slimserver.pl.
Conversion should then be done on the fly to stream.mp3.

you can run slimserver.pl --d_source for some debugging information if you still
can't get flac output. This will show you what type of player, song, and
commands required for each song that you try to play.
