Hi Aynsley,

Could you try starting the application on the command prompt using 'java
-jar SoftSqueeze.jar'. You will need to 'cd' to the directory where you
unzipped SoftSqueeze. This should display lots of debug, if you could try
and play a file then email the result I'll try and spot what's gone wrong.

I know at the moment it won't play tracks if you have the Password
protection enabled in the server settings.

Also it would be good to know what version of Slim server you are using?

Regards,

Richard

I think I'm missing something.

Looks great and displays all the correct info (even synched with a SliMP3
and a SB). However I can't get it to make any sound.

I'm running on Win XP Pro and I've just downloaded and installed the latest
Java V1.4.2_04

Any help would be gratefully received.

Thanks for putting in the effort, this is what I've been looking for for
ages.

Aynsley

Hi,

Following the 'Slimp3slave for Windows' thread last week I have been looking
at developing an Squeezebox client in Java. This has the advantage of being
cross platform, so it will work with Windows, Macs and Linux :-)

An alpha version is available from http://softsqueeze.sourceforge.net. This
will play MP3's streamed from the slim server, emulates the squeezebox's VF
display and has an emulation of the Slim remote control. The UI is crude at
the moment, I'll be working on that next. Of course you can use the Slim
server web interface to control the player.

I am looking for someone to help design a skin for SoftSqueeze (not good at
graphics myself!). If your interested in helping then please get in touch.
Also the code has only been tested on Windows so far, so if you try it on a
Mac or Linux box I'd be interested to know how you get on.

Regards,

Richard
