I have seen a very similar problem two or three times on my Squeezebox while
playing FLAC files. The music will stop and the SB will display the "Lost
contact with Slimserver" error. Nothing I do on the remote control provokes
a response. If I pull the power from the SB and then plug it back in, it
comes back up to the network config prompt. It finds the SlimServer and
then plays music normally -- I don't see either of the two errors you list
at the end there.

I don't have to do anything on the PC running the server software to get it
working, I just have to power cycle the SB itself.

If it matters, I'm using a wired SB. My server is on a WinXP Home system
with an Athlon 900 processor.

As I said, I've only seen this a few times. I'm running server software
5.1.1, and I last updated the firmware when I moved to 5.1.1.

This is a known bug and we're working on it...
