Hmm... there are already countless software clients for playing MP3s on a
PC. Why would you install the Slim server and then a software Slim client
unless you also had Slim hardware? It'd make more sense just to use Winamp
or something.

I don't see a software slim player hurting sales.

Imagine a headless little machine with no input devices nor screen (like
my small homeserver). I've been looking for a solution quite some time to
get it playing MP3s and being able to remote control it. I've tried some
of the web-interfaces (like. eg. netjuke), but imho none was working as
smoothly as slimserver with slimp3slave. I'm very happy with this
installation (which finally synchronizes fine with my SliMP3 and
Squeezebox).
