View Full Version : Title Format "Comment" not working correctly for MusicIP playlist in web UI

I have my Title Format set to "Comment", because that allows me to format my track display according to whatever convoluted rules I want to follow for each track. :)

For the player UI, the web UI's artist/album browser on the left, and the right-hand player part of the web UI that works great. However, if I click on the M on the left part of the web UI to generate a MusicIP playlist, the playlist that comes back on the left side of the screen has "by <artist> from <album>" added to the Comment tag's text.

So, for example, if I set the Comment tag to "01 Track Name - Artist Name - Album Name", the MusicIP playlist is displayed as "01 Track Name - Artist Name - Album Name by Artist Name from Album Name"

I guess this is a bug...? Is there an easy way for me to fix it myself?

Thanks!

-Jesse

-EDIT: I'm running SC v7.01 and MusicIP v1.8.1b

It's the same for me in eg. the album view. MIP is using the same code to
display items as do the other browse/search function.

Are these the two screens you're referring to? As you can see in the screenshots, they are not displaying the same for me. Are you running the same versions - SC v7.01 and MusicIP v1.8.1b?

They are displaying the same, but not formatted the same ;-). As the Album screen shows all the items of one album, we decided to move the album title up to the top. This of course can't be done in a mix.

Try displaying the same page in another skin (Classic, Fishbone), and it will very likely be identical to what you have in the MIP screen. Or browse Years -> 1999 -> All Tracks.

OK, I see your point. I would like to propose, obviously, that this be changed. :) I would prefer that it display everywhere as it does on the right side of the screen and on the hardware, with just the information defined in the Title Format. However, I can see that for people that have their Title Formats with only Track Names and no album or artist information, that change would be annoying for them (though they'd only have to go in to the Title Format and add the additional information - the upgrade script could even do that automatically). Ah well, I guess I'll just ignore it - I don't use the web UI very often anyways.
