View Full Version : XP Pro - Service won't start ? Claims 'Problem:Thereis alreadyanother copy of the SlimServer running on this machine ?

Thanks for the suggestions. However no luck

- No UDP connection already bound to 3483
- Re install and monitoring or reg and files no luck
- Discovered the that the slimserver.pref doesn't seem to be complete after install - does not include music or audiodir
- Using same install.exe and / or copying over files from working W2K machine still no luck??

Not sure (and probablly looking in the wrong places), So may try a re-build of OS

Hi Chas,

Do you have any firewall software installed that would prevent the
SlimServer software from opening that port?

Did you check the firewall? It's something that XP has, but 2K doesn't,
and if it's set to be restrictive, it may not be allowing SlimServer to
open a UDP listener.
