View Full Version : Permissions Issue causing slimserver crash?

This file is created when you have MP3 tag caching turned on - once SlimServer has finished scanning the music directory it tries to write this file as the cache; if the destination directory is not writable then you'll get just this effect.

From the log message, I would guess that you're running the server as a user who can't write to /usr/local/slimserver (or overwrite the .slimserver.db file if one already exists).

You should be able to configure the server to write the file to go to a place that has write permissions, or as a quick fix you can turn off caching by setting "Server-Settings->Performance->MP3 Tag Database" to "Don't Cache" (in the Fishbone skin, at any rate).

Hope I'm right,
