anyone gotten it to work with artsd? I've tried a few silly tricks like
this:
artswrapper slimp3slave
and this:
char *player_cmd = "artswrapper madplay -Q -";

but shockingly they don't work :-) artswrapper madplay does work, of
course.

Try using artsdsp instead of artswrapper. Works for me both ways.

I normally run it without routing through arts even though I have arts
running. I guess my sound driver (ALSA emu10k1) doesn't mind both arts and
madplay having the device open at once.
