View Full Version : Predictive Text selection for SlimServer ??

I have often thought that I would like to be able to 'select'
artists/albums etc by typing the name from the remote using just one
keypress for each character rather like mobile phones do with predictive
text. So for Nirvana for example you might type 647 but that could also pull
in Missy Elliot - the next char 6478 needed to reduce the matches to unique.
I had a friend round at the weekend who was playing with the SliMP3 - he
had had absolutely no clues how to use it and his first approach was to try
this route. To do this I guess would need an extra numeric field for each
of the searchable values created as the database was built.
Does anyone else think this would be useful ??

I do think that this would be useful. That's how it should work for
sorted lists.

For unsorted lists (like playlists) entering digits in this way should
jump to the number entered.
