I've started a new wiki page on which we'd like to collect information about applications which are known to cause trouble running SqueezeCenter:

http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/FirewallAvAndOtherOffenders

As of now these are mostly security related packages such as firewalls and av scanners. But feel free to add any application you know to the list.

Our plan is to come up with some autodetection in the installer plus probably a troubleshooting application which will analyze your system for any potential issues regarding blocked ports or ports being already in use. This information will help us recognize these processes.

Thanks for your support!

cslistener seems to use Port 9000. At least, there are several references when googling for Port 9000

Do you want users to update the wiki page or to provide info here and you'llupdate the wiki ?

ZoneAlarm on Vista needs to be at least version 7.1.254 or else it will stop socketwrapper (used by AlienBBC and AACplus amongst others) working.

One user stated that with Peerguardian installed, make sure this ip address is opened up 212.58.227 to make AlienBBC work. I can't verify this btu I presume it is socketwrapper related.

Would be great if you could update the wiki if you have the information at hand. Thanks a lot!

Thanks. Will add it to the list as soon as I've been able to reproduce this.

But you know how to configure SC to listen on a different port?

Based on the results of that list I've created a simple troubleshooting wizard:
http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=305747

Please give it a try! Thanks.
