View Full Version : Problem with music on two LOCAL drives.

I've read the forums and have seen I'm not the only one with this problem - and I can't find anything that solves it for me.

I DID create a shortcut to the secondary location inside the main music folder. It DOES see that folder if I poke around in my "Music Folder" from within Slimserver. The problem is that it sees that folder as a SONG, not a directory. I've done a complete dump and rescan, a scan for new and changed music, I've changed the way the Slimserver service runs, I've run Slim.exe as Administrator... I've got nothing.

Ideas would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Help please!!!

Windows XP MCE 2005

SlimServer Version: 6.5.4 - 12568 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252
Server IP address:
Perl Version: 5.8.8 MSWin32-x86-multi-thread
MySQL Version: 5.0.22-community-nt

When I browse to "Music folder" in Slimserver I find the folder name that my shortcut is mapped to. When I click it this is all I see:

My Music
File Format:
C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\My Documents\My Music (Download)
Date Modified:
Wednesday, May 28, 2008, 6:32:31 PM

Why does it see the folder my shortcut is pointing to as a song it doesn't know what to do with?

I'm frustrated.

There were bugs related to shortcuts which have been fixed in the latest
7.0.1 build. Please give it a try.
