View Full Version : squeezebox clipping first second of tracks

I don't think it's that simple. With some amps (mine is a Denon), using
either digital out (toslink or spdif) with MP3s results in this problem.
The digital out on the Squeezebox shuts off for a split-second between
songs, resulting in a break in the signal to the DAC. The amp then takes
about a half-second to reestablish the lock, resulting in the beginning
of the song being clipped. (This is not a problem introduced in 5.1
though; it's been around longer than that.)

From what I understand, the recent 5.1.1 nightlies do fix a problem with
the spdif output, but I know from personal experience that 5.1.1 (so
far, including the 3/2 nightly) does not fix the problem I'm describing,
which persists with either digital output.

It is fixed for PCM formats but not mp3 (yet).
