View Full Version : Does the Controller have IR?

I assume it doesn't, but I've looked around and can't find anything actually saying it doesn't. I'd really like to have something that could do everything the controller can do and also serve as a universal remote for my TV/DVR/DVD/Stereo/etc. If the controller has IR I assume that it could be programmed to do this.

It has an IR emitter, but I'm not sure if anyone has programmed it to do anything yet, it will probably happen in the future.

It has IR, and there is a test applet that gives you the ability to use it
as a squeezebox remote emulator. The controller, however, is not designed
to serve as a universal remote and the IR is output only (ie: not
learning)

Presumably, it should be possible to create an applet that would output
the ir codes that you need, but very much non-trivial to do so. Besides,
the Controller would pale in comparison to any of the Harmony remote
series as far as controlling TV/DVD, etc.
