View Full Version : HELP! Two Computers, One Squeezebox

I am in the middle of setting up a separate computer
to run my music and came accross a problem. When I
use my existing computer (xp) Squeezebox works like a
charm but when I connect my second computer (W2K pro)
and run slimserver (with the old computer turned off)
I have to restart Squeezebox for it to recognize the
new box. when I switch back to the old box I have to
restart Squeezebox again. Is this right?

Second, the new box is sending commands to Squeezebox
and the Sqeezebox is working fine except that it is
not playing music. It thinks it is playing music but
it is not. The "Now Playing" is showing the song with
the seconds progressing, without any sound. Any idea
why this is the case?

Maybe off topic, maybe related, why is it when I try
to rip a CD with iTunes on the new PC it doesn't rip
everything "rips" with zero seconds. In fact when I
tell iTunes to play a CD from the cd-rom it thinks it
is playing but it skips to the next song immediately
with no music. EAC works perfectly though.

Thanks

That's your CD-ROM drive. I once had a Creative Labs CD-ROM that would
not rip audio at all, but worked fine as a data drive. More recently,
with my current drive cdda has problems with discs that have a data
track, but cdparanoia rips just fine.
