Hi Dean
My experience shows that when I want to use Squeeze-
box at work or somewhere outside my network that
I need to open and forward two TCP ports: 3483 and
9000
However the FAQ tells about UDP ports 1069 and 3483.
As far as I can remember UDP port 1069 was used by
SLIMP3 before port number 3483 was officially
assigned to Slimdevices.
This is my understanding. Please correct me if I'm
wrong:
SLIMP3: UDP port 3483
Squeezebox: TCP ports 3483 and 9000
Webinterface: TCP port 9000
Felix
Here's the entry from the FAQ for reference:
Networking
How do I set up my firewall to allow Squeezebox to
communicate with the server?
Make sure that UDP ports 1069 and 3483 are open for
communication between Squeezebox and the SlimServer
computer. Make sure that TCP port 9000 is open for
access to the SlimServer web interface.
