I bought my Duet a couple of weeks ago, but have spent the intervening time ripping all my CDs to lossless format, doing a pile every time I sat down at the computer. Quite a lot, 2/3 of my 250 gig USB drive, purchased for this purpose, is filled (it's USB, but fits into a slot on the HP computer, called a Pocket Drive).

So today was D-day (as in Duet Day). I'd decided to do a hybrid setup, although unfortunately the location where the sound equipment has to be had no ethernet jack. So I drilled a hole in the corner and ran a cable directly to the router, which is in the basement practically right below the SB receiver. In principle, I'm a believer in "wired where possible".

So the setup was hybrid, and everything proceeded smoothly. Had an extended blue light, during which nothing worked, and I was beginning to think I had some sort of firewall issue with Norton AV, but in the fullness of time things sorted and it ALL WORKED.

At first there was some issue with a delay in the controller showing what was actually playing, but I suspect that had to do with the Squeezecenter or something else churning cycles on the computer, as it too eventually went away.

The music quality is very very good, I'm convinced I can hear a substantial improvement over the CD player (which is a cheap one).

Magic!
