View Full Version : Fishbone javascript error?

Hi, I seem to be having a little problem - I usually browse my music via the Music Folder view using the fantastic Fishbone skin, and up until the Squeezecenter release this has been working perfectly. Now I seem to be having problems adding some albums and songs to the playlist. It seems to only occur if there is an ampersand symbol in the song (filename) or album (folder name). I figured this was probably a javascript problem as fishbone seems to use javascript heavily, so tested with firebug. As suspected, firebug reports an error when trying to add a song - "missing ) after argument list", but unusually it doesnt report an error when adding an album. I use Firefox 2.0, but same thing seems to happen with IE.

Hope this is enough info to help the author, and thanks for such a great skin

Cheers, Cameron

Download and install the latest nightly build and see if the problem still exists. If it does file a bufg at bugs.slimdevices.com.

FWIW I see this behavior in 7.0.1 - 18702.

is that ALL that there is? no line number or anything to focus it
more than every line of JS used by fishbone or common skins?
any details you have will help. I create a file with an asterisk in
it, and nothing seems to be wrong. Unfortunately, I don't have much
free
time to spend trying random tests so if you can point to something
more specific, then there is a much better chance that I can fix it.

Use a file with an ampersand in it. In my above post that's what failed for me and what the OP referred to.

d'oh. sorry. so much garbage from trolls and trollbashing that it
isn't very easy to take the real information on board any more

well, I don't see the error in firebug, but I can reproduce the play file problem. It needs a bug filed. That is, if you want to have any chance of it being fixed for 7.0.1. If there are more details, they need to go into that bug.
