View Full Version : Can Squeezebox identify single tracks in CDs ripped as asingle Flac file? (and help with embedding CUE info)

Hi,
I've ripped some CDs using EAC and Flac as single files in one hit. EAC
creates a CUE sheet file with each album (of the same name as the album
file).

When I play them on the Squeezebox the Squeezebox lists the name of the
album and then only the second track (why the second track?). I can only
play the album from the beginning and not scip between tracks as the
Squeezebox sees it as one file.

I have read in this list that the Squeezebox does not recognise embedded CUE
sheet info so it would not seem to matter if i can embed it or not (although
I would like to do this to future-proof the Flac files but have had no
success so far).

Anyway, my question is:
Can the Squeezebox recognise individual tracks in a file ripped as a
single-file Flac?
------------------------------------------

Just incase anyone can help me with this embedded CUE sheet problem.
The string I use at the moment is:
--best --replay-gain -V -T "title=%t" -T "artist=%a" -T "album=%g" -T
"date=%y" -T "tracknumber=%n" -T "genre=%m" %s

I've tried adding:
--cuesheet="%~d1%~p1%~n1.cue"

to it to try to get the FLAC program to embed the CUE sheet information from
the CUE file EAC produces (which is named the same as the flac and wav files
it produces) but this string causes Flac to bomb out.

Can anyone help? I've had no luck from Hydrogen Audio.

Thanks.

A few people have started working on implementing this, but it's not
there yet. Unfortunately, there is currently a bug in flac that
limits the usefulness of this in mixed playlists. so even once all the
pieces are in place in slimserver, you'll probably need to wait for
the next release of flac before you're really able to make the best
use of this. It is an issue that people are interested in though, so
stay tuned.
