Someone wrote a plugin for version 4 of the server and
audioscrobbler, but it hasn't been updated for version 5.

There was an updated version posted here, but the site now just goes back to the
old version. No matter, since the 'updated' version was broken too.

I'm testing a working version of the 'slimscrobbler' plugin at the moment.

It so far appears to be working well on Linux & Win XP on 5.x
It has a nice front end for the player which allows you to set username
& password, set updates to automatic or manual and the ability to force
updates to audioscrobbler...

However, it's not mine and I wouldn't like to post it just yet until I
get the OK from the author (who I believe is on holiday at the moment).

I'll cc this to him so he sees it on his return....

This is unfortunately true.

Mike Scott started the work of updating my SlimScrobbler plug-in, but he
didn't quite finish. I think I've now finished it properly.

I can't be absolutely sure because AudioScrobbler itself is down.
They've never exactly been stable either, which is at least part
of the reason this plug-in has taken so long to be updated.

Oh, and AudioScrobbler is big on MusicBrainz integration, by the way.

Please try V0.25 from:

I'm getting a bad password result. I can log into the website with the same
username/password combination, but the plugin still fails. Is this expected, or
is the error perhaps reporting the wrong thing?

It isn't expected, but it isn't surprising either -- the AudioScrobbler
web site has had problems for as long
as I've known about it.

Log output would be welcome.
