Hello,
Planning to replace my current server for a new one and should be as green as possible with reasonable performance.
Anyone experience with one of the Asus EEE Pc's as a server (for SqueezeCenter).

Sure there are a lot of pro's and con's but for me a NAS with SC is not the way to go as I want to run a little more than SC on it (e-mail server i.e).
I would use a NAS then only as a box to serve files to the Asus EEE.

any thoughts, anyone experience with this?

Thanks,

Willem

Search the 3rd party hardware forum - at least one person has done this
already.

You may also want to look up Koolu Network Appliance.

You may want to hold on for a little bit as Asus is getting ready to unleash a new product line: Think EeePC in a non-nonsense mini-desktop format. Here's a peek: http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/14/asus-ep20-desktop-emerges-from-cebit-confusion/

You may /want/ a display, but if not, that might be greener, smaller, and cheaper.

I have the eeepc running with winxp and squeezecenter. The musiclibrary is on a 750gb Nas.
I use it with the duet and it works perfect.
