I have downloaded and am using SlimServer 5.1

I have the following lines in convert.conf to selectively alter the
bitrate, depending on the destination:

mp3 mp3 http *
$lame$ --silent --mp3input -b 96 $FILE$ -

mp3 mp3 slimp3 *
-

The music server is my main desktop, and occasionally I like to listen my
music from there. So, the computer is serving music to itself... When
doing so, I'd like to hear the 320kbps stream, rather than the 96kbps
stream that I've set above.

To this end, I tried doing this:

mp3 mp3 http 00:00:00:20:dc:56
-

However, this doesn't give the desired effect, as I still get the 96kbps
stream.

Is there a way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?

Many thanks,
clay.

Hi Clay,

Rather than listing the MAC address, try listing the IP address for the
streaming player. (We only use MAC addresses to uniquely identify
hardware players, we use IP addresses to identify software players.)
