View Full Version : Annoyance with stream.mp3

Hi all,

I tend to listen to my music at work using 'stream.mp3' via Winamp. What
I've noticed happening recently is that when I reach the end of a playlist,
Winamp stops playing and disconnects from the stream.

The problem with this is that this removes the stream from the list of
players in the web interface, so I can't add any more music to it. I have to
hit 'Play' on Winamp (which starts it playing the last song in the playlist
again) and then add some more music via the web interface.

Is this a setting somewhere I can change? Or is it an oddity with Winamp?

I guess I could try Softsqueeze, but the last time I tried that on my work
PC it just wouldn't play for some reason, so I gave up and went with the
Winamp approach.

Thanks for any help anyone can offer.

Even after the playlist is done it plays silence, so Winamp shouldn't ever stop playing. You may want to try enabling the repeat setting too.

That's not the behaviour I'm seeing. Winamp definitely stops playing. Is
this a setting somewhere?

Don't really want to enable repeat, I want it to 'stop' playing (i.e.
continue to play silence) at the end of the playlist, so I know I need to go
and add something else.

I have bit rate limiting turned on for the stream if that makes any
difference?

Can you file a bug? We'll take a look at it.

I've noticed this behavior too. I considered it a feature. I'm go back and forth from my desk and often leave my music playing. Sometimes I don't make it back to my desk for a couple of hours. Rather than waste bandwidth streaming silence, it makes sense to me to stop the streaming once the playlist is done.
