Some sites stream, some don't. I'm at a loss, and I'd appreciate any
insight.

The following are two 'stations' I'm trying to use:

http://www.somafm.com/groovesalad.pls
http://abcrad.sc.llnwd.net:12015/listen.pls

Both are MP3 streams, that work without issue in MP3 players that
support streaming (XMMS, WinAmp, RhythmBox, etc.).

When I configured these as playlists in the SlimServer, both connect,
and stream. I have done sniffer captures on the Squeezebox and
SlimServer network interfaces to verify this. HOWEVER, the second
station I listed does not seem to be audible via the Squeezebox.

It's pretty much hit or miss when it comes to streaming.

All ideas welcome!

Regards,
Jade

I tested these two this morning with last night's pre-release build:

http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/latest

And they worked fine. I had made one change yesterday to handle an
error case that we hadn't seen before, so that may have fixed it.

I downloaded and fired off the latest release. Same issue.

Here's something interesting, and perhaps will shed a little light on my
issue.

With the first streaming link I previously mentioned (and most others),
my receiver (Sony HT-DDW750), set to use "A.F.D. Auto" mode (i.e.
automatic detection of audio signal type) detects "PCM 44.1". The
receiver detects the same signal type when playing MP3s from my personal
archive.

Now, when attempting to play the second stream, automatic decoding fails
and no sound is heard (although the network shows the stream functioning
correctly).

I have tried ever possible manual signal settings, and still achieve the
same results.

Regards,
Jade

Jade,

Would it be possible for you to run the server with the following
debugging options turned on:

d_remotestream d_source

then try to stream the station you are having trouble with and send me
the log output?
