View Full Version : SBC artist browsing

Just got my Duet today and I'm beginning to try it out. One question
so far. From the main SBC menu I select Music Library, then Artists,
and then I select an artist with multiple albums. I don't see any
option that allows me to browse all of their songs on one screen -- it
seems I have to drill down into each album, and then if it doesn't
have the song I want, I have to back up and check the next album.
This is in contrast to the web interface (at least with the default
skin). In the web interface, if you select Music Library, then
Artists, then an artist with multiple albums, the first option is "All
Songs", which allows you to browse all of their songs.

In the SBC you do have the "Play All Songs" option, but I want to just
have one view with all of their songs, from which I can pick the one
(or ones) I want.

Is this possible currently? A possible enhancement request?

Thanks!

You're right: That feature isn't available on the controller.

Ok, thanks for the response. I'll open an enhancement request and
post the number here, in case anyone else would like to vote for it.

Ok, I've opened an enhancement request for this:
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=7439

I encourage others to vote for this if you would also like to see it.
My proposal is that they replace the "Play All Songs" entry with an
"All Songs" entry. If you click the play button while that entry is
selected, it would play all songs by that artist. If you click on the
center button while that entry is selected, it would drill down and
list all songs by that artist.

This was an open (but unfixed) bug already, but your description was much better so I closed the old one in favor of yours :)

cheers,

Thanks. :) I'm nothing if not verbose. Or maybe I just talk too much!
