When I`m trying to stream Internet Radio the display says "Connecting" in a few seconds and then it says "Connection timed out". I have tried to change the "buffer seconds" and "timeout" in the settings, but it doesn`t help.

If I try to play the same streams in Windows Media Player on the same computer as the SqueezeCenter it works well.

I`m running SqueezeCenter (downloaded today) on Windows XP. The Squeezebox is wired to the computer running SC, and the computer is wireless connected (not using SB as a bridge) to my home network.

I would be very grateful for some good tricks to fix this problem!

So the SB is wired directly to the computer - not via the router? If so the problem is simply that the SB can't see the outside world, it has no internet connection and so it can't get the stream.

If I were you, I'd connect the SB to the wireless network, and then use it to bridge the connection to the PC. That way, you still have a directly wired connection between SB and SC (which is usually a good idea). I also find that the SB is an excellent wireless bridge, and gives better performance than a regular wireless card in every case I've tried.

If you don't want to do that, you could try having both devices wireless, or you could share the computers connection between it's wired and wireless interfaces. If you're running windows that's done via "Internet Connection Sharing" - google will find instructions.

Finally, it is possible to set the SB to use SC as a proxy for all external connections. That might be the simplest solution, but alas I forget the exact setting in SC. Maybe someone will jump in and remind us :)

Oh, thanks for your reply! I have always been thinking that the internet radio was "going through" the SqueezeCenter/SlimServer. As a matter of fact I have always been wondering about what`s beeing done on the the server side and what`s beeing done on the Squeezebox.

I will take a look at your suggestions!

By the way, one of the settings Radish was referring to is:

Settings->Players->Audio->MP3 Streaming Method

Now it works great. Uses the Squeezebox as a bridge. Thanks again for the help!

Is it possible to put the radio stations I want into the Internet Radio menu? And I want to remove the other items in this menu, like Radio Time, Live365 and so on...

To remove Radio time, Live365, etc open the settings menu in SqueezeCenter and click on the plugins tab. Disable the plugins that you don't want.

Thanks, that made them disappear.

After reading http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=42457 it seems like it is impossible to put your own radio stations in the "Internet Radio" menu?
