so i'm using your skin in SC7, and appreciate the ability to still adjust the center column, (which for some reason the default doesn't allow) and i browse by artwork, artist, year, album.

the Q is regarding the alphabar. the page you are on only has those characters slightly bolded, yes? is that correct?

frankly, it is very hard to discern.

can i suggest a larger size, or differing color to denote what page you are on? maybe both?

thoughts?

also, two bugs, one maybe one for sure:

first, sometimes when you click the cover art u don't get that popup effect with greyed background. this is a maybe tho, i haven't been able to reproduce on cue yet.

the second is for sure...

if the coverart popup is working, if the album has a lot of tracks, the popup will get a vert scroll bar that covers up the red X on the top right corner. u have to click hold and drag in a blank space to uncover it, and for sure a lot of people won't figure that out. (or use the bottom scroll bar, but it ends up being a lot of scrolling all over the place, also confusing for newbies i think)

maybe just offset the red x a bit.

so these changes are already made? is it in the DL beta available now or should i wait for tonights?

kdf, did you make these changes based on my post, or were you doing it anyway? i'm just curious. either way, thx.

and, while the browser may be silly, it is still by far the #1 browser in the world. it works well for me. not saying i love it, just saying it works, and thats enough it seems, for most people.

it is in trunk as of today's build.

I saw your post and looked at what was going on. I wasn't seeing the
specific issue, but did notice that there were things that could be
done better (like allowing any click outside of the album popup to
close the popup.

I just changed my skin to fishbone as current Trackstat plugin is not fully implemented in default skin.

I can't find any playing time as well as remaining time in fishbone skin, there is only green bar showing the playing status. Is any setting i need to change to show playing time? Please advise.

TIA

what you see is that you get. There is total time, and the progress
bar shows approximate position within the song. You can also click on
the bar to jump around within the song (for all formats that allow
scanning/jumping)

KDF, thanks for clarification. I hope to see playing time/remaining time in near future.

Anyway, fishbone is very cool skin, white/red text with black background, easy and comfortable to read.

Cheers!

To be honest, I feel that the fishbone skin is nearing what could be
considered end of life. I've been maintaining and building on it for
4 years now, the majority of which have been responding to requests
that didn't always match up with what I wanted in a skin. Basic find/
replace changes will probably keep it going for many new releases, but
with the new direction taken in building support for the new default
skin, the "older" skins just don't fit all that well any more. I have
no plans to fight the progress toward a more ajax-centric interface.
I know that the roadmap includes a desire to make the new Default more
modular so that new and interesting skins can be built upon that. I
remain hopeful that some folks out there will be inspired to take a
crack at it. I suppose there is some chance I may as well, but I'd
have to forget a good measure of burnout.

i still like it, altho i confess i'd probably be happy with the default if i could resize the center divide... without that ability i can't browse artwork the way i like.

maybe kdf someone will offer to take it over for you?

It's in svn, gpl, accessible to anyone. I haven't really done much
with it for some time now, most of the features added for 7.0 were
well back in the cycle. Even before the new default came along. In
fact, now that I think about it, it was even before 6.5.x was
released. Some of the new features were being developed but weren't
qualified for 6.5.

I simply think that the best way forward is something new. But I don't
expect the skin will be removed as long as keeping it up to date is a
matter of adjusting common urls and object names as updates come along.

That will be possible in SC7.1
