"My Classic FM is our brand new interactive online radio player that allows you to listen to six new channels of classical music and even create and listen to your own personalised classical radio station".

I was wondering if there is any possibility of getting this service to work on my Transporter. I am sure the answer will be NO. It would probably require a plug in. Any of our plug in experts got any ideas?

Not sure if this service is restricted to UK only.

Just noticed the following statement on their web site - "There is currently no Mac or Linux support as we're using Windows Media format and we need to put some Digital Rights Management over our player to ensure that the musicians and performers are paid their royalties. There is no Windows DRM on Mac or Linux which prevents us from giving you access to MyClassic FM. If the rules change, we will add new formats".

Probably not due to the windows DRM. The Squeezebox guys may be working on DRM support, but it won't work right now.

See this thread http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=35718 for a plugin that works on Slimserver 6.5, but not yet converted to SC7.

I also use Winamp and Shoutcast server (free to download) to stream any audio played on my PC. The Winamp DSP plugin allows you to feed the input of your PC audio card to the server. You can then stream the audio to the Squeezebox as if it was an internet radio, but on your internal network.

I use this successfully to stream Launchcast (Yahoo) audio to my squeezebox and have also tested with other stations using browser players. Sound quality can be a bit mixed though!

Details available here: http://www.shoutcast.com/download/

The site has comprehensive instruction on how to set it to work. Once you are streaming, tune in slimserver to the winamp server on your PC.

I use WinXP but a similar system is available for Linux if that is what you are running.

I haven't tried it on My ClassicFM because the player locks up my browser (today).

Checked My ClassicFM again and it now works OK. Streaming to Squeezebox using Winamp/Shoutast server.

Could do without the very loud announcement "This is My ClassicFM" between tracks tho'.
