Which works better and what are the pros and cons of each one.
Accessing my music files off my computer or uploading my music to the online music locker?
thanks

Hrm.. maybe this should be a FAQ entry..

To start:

SqueezeNetwork Pros:
* No need for a PC or server at home.
* Play same content from multiple locations.

SqueezeNetwork Cons:
* Limited bitrates due to internet bandwidth
* Very few options for lossless content
* Each Squeezebox must stream from the internet separately
* High latency can make interface slow

SqueezeCenter Pros:
* Unlimited storage on your PC
* Lots of transcoding options
* Works with your Apple iTunes
* Lots of plugins you can use/customize
* No need for an internet connection
* No limit on number of Squeezeboxes (due to internet bandwidth)

SqueezeCenter Cons:
* Requires you have a computer running
* Requires you update the software from time to time

I wouldn't classify one as better than the other.

With SqueezeNetwork, we do the IT work for you. You don't need a computer running, you don't need to update SlimServer/SqueezeCenter, etc. Also, the music stored in your MP3tunes locker is easier to access from other locations (your office computer, your cell phone, etc.) than SS/SC, and MP3tunes will transcode/resample the audio stream to match a device's capabilities and the bandwidth available to said device.

The tradeoff you make is that third-party SlimServer/SqueezeCenter plug-ins aren't available and the music in your MP3tunes music locker can't be stored in a lossless format. Also, the MP3tunes interface (for uploading, creating and managing your account, etc.) is English only right now.
